To __8__ this idea, he turned to the university-admissions process. Dr Simonsohn found if the score of the previous candidate in a daily series of interviewees was 0.75 points or more higher than that of the one __17__ that, then the score for the next applicant would __18__ by an average of 0.075 points.

    • A. grants
    • B. submits
    • C. transmits
    • D. delivers

    答案A

    • A. minor
    • B. external
    • C. crucial
    • D. objective

    • A. issue
    • B. vision
    • C. picture
    • D. moment

issue、vision、moment 均不能构成 consider the big …

    • A. Above all
    • B. On average
    • C. In principle
    • D. For example

Above all 表最重要,On average 表平均,In principle 表原则上,都无法引出举例关系。

    • A. fond
    • B. fearful
    • C. capable
    • D. thoughtless

fond of 是喜爱,capable of 是能够,thoughtless of 搭配不当,语义也不符“担心形象”这一动机。

    • A. in
    • B. for
    • C. to
    • D. on

in/for/to 均不能构成这一习语。

    • A. if
    • B. until
    • C. though
    • D. unless

    答案A

    • A. test
    • B. emphasize
    • C. share
    • D. promote

    答案A

    • A. decision
    • B. quality
    • C. status
    • D. success

    • A. found
    • B. studied
    • C. chosen
    • D. identified

    • A. otherwise
    • B. defensible
    • C. replaceable
    • D. exceptional

    答案A

    • A. inspired
    • B. expressed
    • C. conducted
    • D. secured

    • A. assigned
    • B. rated
    • C. matched
    • D. arranged

    答案B

    解析rated applicants on a scale of one to five:按五分制给申请者“打分”。

    • A. put
    • B. got
    • C. took
    • D. gave

put/got/gave 不能构成这一搭配。

    • A. instead
    • B. then
    • C. ever
    • D. rather

    • A. selected
    • B. passed
    • C. marked
    • D. introduced

    答案C

    解析GMAT is marked out of 800:满分为 800 分的“计分”方式。

    • A. below
    • B. after
    • C. above
    • D. before

    答案D

解析the one before that 指序列中“再前一位”考生,与 previous candidate 形成连续比较。

    • A. jump
    • B. float
    • C. fluctuate
    • D. drop

    • A. achieve
    • B. undo
    • C. maintain
    • D. disregard

    • A. necessary
    • B. possible
    • C. promising
    • D. helpful

    答案A
