Nowadays, in China, children start primary school at the age of six and receive nine years of compulsory education from primary school to junior high school. Since the fall semester of 2008, students in the compulsory education stage have been exempt from tuition fees. With the implementation of a series of educational reform measures, the quality of compulsory education in China has also significantly improved.
