参考译文The Pearl River is a major river system in South China, passing through Guangzhou City, and is the third longest river in China, only after the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers. The Pearl River Delta, with an area of approximately 11,000 square kilometers, is one of the most developed regions in China and also the largest urban agglomeration in the world in terms of area and population. The nine largest cities in the Pearl River Delta have a combined population of over 57 million. Since the economic reforms and opening up of China in the late 1970s, the Pearl River Delta has become one of the main economic regions and manufacturing centers in China and the world.
